Event Title: Shaping our Peer Learning Community: Kickoff for Advancing Adaptation Implementation in Natural Resource Sectors
Date: October 9, 2025
The Climate Risk Institute, supported by Natural Resources Canada’s Climate Change Adaptation Program (CCAP) kicked off the Advancing Adaptation Implementation peer learning series. The session introduced participants to the Implementation Insights project (2024–2026)—an initiative aimed at strengthening climate adaptation across Canada’s forestry, energy, and mining sectors.
Participants explored the Drivers, Enablers, and Barriers (DEBs) influencing adaptation implementation, learned about the new CanAdapt online community, and took part in breakout discussions to help shape the emerging peer learning network. The event marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to move from planning to doing—advancing climate resilience through shared knowledge, practical tools, and cross-sector learning.
