One of the key takeaways from our previous discussion on resilience was the critical role of continuous learning in strengthening adaptive systems. Much of this learning happens through partnerships - whether with communities, Indigenous organizations, or other stakeholders - enabling the exchange of diverse knowledge systems, shared resources, and co-created strategies to address climate challenges.
A great example is the co-management of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia , where Indigenous leadership and government collaboration have enhanced biodiversity protection and long-term resilience.
Beyond addressing immediate climate risks, partnerships strengthen local capacity by providing training, resources, and long-term knowledge exchange, ensuring adaptation efforts are sustainable over time.
In your experience:
- How have partnerships with community groups, Indigenous organizations, or other stakeholders strengthened the resilience of your adaptation projects?
- What approaches have you found most effective in building and sustaining these partnerships?
- If you haven’t worked with such partnerships yet, how do you think they could enhance your efforts?
